Origin: Amazon jungle
Ideal Conditions: Prefers bright, indirect light. Thrives in well draining, peat or coco coir based soil. Needs plenty of humidity such as misting or a humidity tray. Keep soil evenly moist and water when top 1” of soil dries. Feed with a half strength balanced fertilizer during the growing season.
Ease of care: Difficult but worth it
Notes: Also named the cathedral plant for it’s beautiful leaves which almost look like stained glass. Occasionally dust leaves to ensure proper photosynthesis. Use filtered water, sensitive to chlorine and fluoride.
Like other "prayer plants", the 'peacock' also raises and closes its leaves at night and opens them up again as dawn breaks.
