Origin: South America; hybrid
Ideal Conditions: Prefers bright, filtered light. Thrives in a well draining potting soil. Allow top of soil to dry between waterings, like soil to be slightly moist. Humidity is welcome. Feed with half strength fertilizer once a month during the growing season if the plant is producing new leaves.
Ease of care: easy breezy
Notes: Black Cardinal's broad, wavy leaves emerge wine-red and mature to burgundy. They are Lower leaves die and fall off in order for new leaves to grow in. Clean leaves periodically to enable proper photosynthesis. Grows to be around 2’ tall.
