Pilea peperomioides 'Chinese Money Plant'
|Availability:||Out of stock|
Origin: Yunnan in China. Distributed widely by Norwegian missionary Agnar Espegren.
Ideal conditions: Prefers medium to bright indirect light. Thrives in well-draining soil. Allow top 1-2” of soil to dry before watering. If leaves droop, it needs water.
Ease of care: Moderate
Notes: A mature Pilea grows babies (“pups”) through the soil. Once they have reached ½ size of the mother plant, they can be removed with a clean, sharp knife. Allow to callus over for a few days and re-pot. Or stay with the mother and continue to grow.
The houseplant was first popular in Norway before becoming a global favorite.
No two plants are alike, but they are all special. Yours may not be the one pictured, however it will be a healthy happy new friend that meets our high standards. Unless noted, pots and planters are sold separately.
