Origin: Australia, New Guinea

Ideal conditions: Need bright, filtered light (ideally southern or eastern light). Thrives in high humidity. Mist fronds daily or provide a humidity tray.

Ease of care: Moderate

Notes: Staghorn ferns are epiphytic, meaning they do not grow in the ground, but on tree trunks. They thrive being mounted on walls allowing for a showy display. They have two types of fronds, antlers and a shield. Fuzzy-looking brown fronds develop on the fronds and should not be removed. Safe for humans and pets.
